Study Lenses

The verse centers on "journeyed", "oboth", "encamped", "iyeabarim", "wilderness", "before", "moab", and "toward". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "journeyed" and "oboth", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 10's "And the children of Israel journeyed and..." into verse 12's "From thence they journeyed and encamped in...", so "journeyed" and "oboth" belong inside that flow. In Numbers context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "journeyed" and "oboth" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
