Chapter Text
70:1 {To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David: to bring to remembrance.} Make haste, O God, to deliver me; Jehovah, [hasten] to my help.
70:2 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion that seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and confounded that take pleasure in mine adversity;
70:3 Let them turn back because of their shame that say, Aha! Aha!
70:4 Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee, and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified!
70:5 But I am afflicted and needy: make haste unto me, O God. Thou art my help and my deliverer: O Jehovah, make no delay.

The verse centers on "chief", "musician", "psalm", "david", "bring", "remembrance", "make", and "haste". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "chief" and "musician", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.
The local DBY text gives this verse as the immediate unit, so "chief" and "musician" carries the first interpretive weight. In Psalms context, the local focus is worship, trust, the LORD's kingship, and covenant mercy.
A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "chief" and "musician" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
