Passage
Why also are we in danger every hour?
Why also are we in danger every hour?
1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then the Son also himself shall be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
1 Corinthians 15:29 Otherwise, what shall they do that are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not again at all? Why are they then baptized for them?
1 Corinthians 15:30 Why also are we in danger every hour?
1 Corinthians 15:31 I die daily, I protest by your glory, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:32 If (according to man) I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me, if the dead rise not again? Let us eat and drink, for to morrow we shall die.
The verse centers on "danger" and "hour". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "danger" and "hour", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.
The nearby context moves from verse 29's "Otherwise what shall they do that are..." into verse 31's "I die daily I protest by your...", so "danger" and "hour" belong inside that flow. In 1 Corinthians context, the local focus is Christ, faith, and discipleship.
A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "danger" and "hour" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
