Study Lenses

The verse centers on "grace", "grace of life", "likewise", "husbands", "dwel", "knowledge", "giuing", and "honour". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "grace" and "grace of life", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 6's "As Sara obeyed Abraham and called him..." into verse 8's "Finally be ye all of one minde...", so "grace" and "grace of life" belong inside that flow. In Honor in Marriage and Shared Grace, the local focus is holy conduct, submission, and grace.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "grace" and "grace of life" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
