Study Lenses

The verse centers on "wherefore", "nebuchad-nezzar", "spake", "said", "blessed", "shadrach", "meshach", and "abednego". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "wherefore" and "nebuchad-nezzar", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 27's "Then the nobles princes and dukes and..." into verse 29's "Therefore I make a decree that euery...", so "wherefore" and "nebuchad-nezzar" belong inside that flow. In Daniel context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "wherefore" and "nebuchad-nezzar" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
