Study Lenses

The verse centers on "said", "vnto", "howe", "sought", "knewe", "must", "fathers", and "busines". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "said" and "vnto", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 48's "So when they sawe him they were..." into verse 50's "But they vnderstoode not the word that...", so "said" and "vnto" belong inside that flow. In Luke context, the local focus is Christ, faith, and discipleship.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "said" and "vnto" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
