Study Lenses

The verse centers on "agree", "thine", "aduersarie", "quickly", "whiles", "thou", and "lest". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "agree" and "thine", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 24's "Leaue there thine offring before the altar..." into verse 26's "Verely I say vnto thee thou shalt...", so "agree" and "thine" belong inside that flow. In Matthew context, the local focus is Christ, faith, and discipleship.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "agree" and "thine" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
