Nearby Context

Daniel 6:1 It seemed good to Darius that he set 120 satraps over the kingdom, that they would be in charge of the whole kingdom,

Study Lenses

The verse centers on "Spirit", "daniel", "began", "distinguishing", "himself", "commissioners", "satraps", and "extraordinary". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "Spirit" and "daniel", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 2's "and over them three commissioners of whom..." into verse 4's "Then the commissioners and satraps began seeking...", so "Spirit" and "daniel" belong inside that flow. In Daniel context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "Spirit" and "daniel" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
