Study Lenses

The verse centers on "days", "coming--an", "affirmation", "jehovah", "come", "nigh", "hath", and "ploughman". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "days" and "coming--an", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 12's "So that they possess the remnant of..." into verse 14's "And I have turned back FI to...", so "days" and "coming--an" belong inside that flow. In Amos context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "days" and "coming--an" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
