Study Lenses

The verse centers on "and--the", "land", "left", "doth", "enjoy", "sabbaths", "desolation", and "without". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "and--the" and "land", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 42's "then I have remembered My covenant FI..." into verse 44's "and also even this in their being...", so "and--the" and "land" belong inside that flow. In Leviticus context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "and--the" and "land" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
