Study Lenses

The verse centers on "overcoming--i", "make", "pillar", "sanctuary", "without", "write", "upon", and "name". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "overcoming--i" and "make", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 11's "Lo I come quickly be holding fast..." into verse 13's "He who is having an ear--let him...", so "overcoming--i" and "make" belong inside that flow. In Revelation context, the local focus is Christ, faith, and discipleship.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "overcoming--i" and "make" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
