Study Lenses

The verse centers on "overcoming--this", "one--shall", "arrayed", "white", "garments", "blot", "name", and "scroll". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "overcoming--this" and "one--shall", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The nearby context moves from verse 4's "Thou hast a few names even in..." into verse 6's "He who is having an ear--let him...", so "overcoming--this" and "one--shall" belong inside that flow. In Revelation context, the local focus is Christ, faith, and discipleship.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "overcoming--this" and "one--shall" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
