Chapter Text

25:1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

25:2 Dominion and fear are with him; he maketh peace in his high places.

25:3 Is there any number of his troops? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

25:4 And how should man be just with God? Or how should he be clean that is born of a woman?

25:5 Lo, even the moon is not bright; and the stars are not pure in his sight:

25:6 How much less man, a worm, and the son of man, a worm!

The verse centers on "light", "bildad", "shuhite", "answered", "said", "dominion", "fear", and "maketh". It is saying that the verse draws attention to "light" and "bildad", so its meaning should be read from those terms before moving to application.

The local DBY text gives this verse as the immediate unit, so "light" and "bildad" carries the first interpretive weight. In Job context, the local focus is covenant, worship, and faithfulness.

A plain takeaway is to answer the verse's own emphasis on "light" and "bildad" with trust shaped by these words, not by a vague optimism outside the passage.
